Mansfield Police Department's K9 Unit consists of Officer Richard Hash and police service dog "Rocket". Officer Hash and Rocket are trained in Patrol and Narcotic Detection. Rocket and Officer Hash have worked together since August of 2000. Rocket was born in March of 1998 in Belgium. Rocket is a solid black Belgian Malinois. Officer Hash and Rocket are assigned to the Patrol Division on the power shift. Both Officer Hash and Rocket are available 24 hours a day for any type of K-9 calls or emergencies. Officer Hash and Rocket have participated in several programs demonstrating to youth the capabilities of Rocket's experience and knowledge.
