Sex offenders are required to register with their
jurisdictional law enforcement agency upon release from supervision.
These registration forms are forwarded to the DPS Crime Records
Service where they are entered into a database file known as TCIC.
The goal of this file is to protect citizens by
maintaining a registry which provides the following: A tool investigators
may use to develop lead information on sex crimes where no suspects
are available; public access for screening employees or volunteers
who work with children; public release of information by school
districts and law enforcement intended for citizens in order to
protect their children; and prevention or deterrence of future
offenses by record subjects (recidivism).
The City of Mansfield cannot guarantee the records you obtain
through this site relate to the person about whom you are seeking
information. Searches based on names, dates of birth and other
alphanumeric identifiers are not always accurate. The only way
to positively link someone to a sex offender record is through
fingerprint verification.
