Registered Sex Offender

The City of Mansfield has established a Sex Offender Registry web site as a community service to help provide citizens easier access to public information concerning Sex Offender Registration data. This information is also provided to the Texas Department of Public Safety for publication in their web site at http://records.txdps.state.tx.us. This information is not guaranteed to be any more accurate than the information provided to the City by the offenders who are required to register by law.

Sex offenders are required to register with their jurisdictional law enforcement agency upon release from supervision. These registration forms are forwarded to the DPS Crime Records Service where they are entered into a database file known as TCIC.

The goal of this file is to protect citizens by maintaining a registry which provides the following: A tool investigators may use to develop lead information on sex crimes where no suspects are available; public access for screening employees or volunteers who work with children; public release of information by school districts and law enforcement intended for citizens in order to protect their children; and prevention or deterrence of future offenses by record subjects (recidivism).

The City of Mansfield cannot guarantee the records you obtain through this site relate to the person about whom you are seeking information. Searches based on names, dates of birth and other alphanumeric identifiers are not always accurate. The only way to positively link someone to a sex offender record is through fingerprint verification.

The information found on through this Web site is open record. It may be used by anyone for any legal purpose. However, it is your responsibility to make sure the records you access through this site pertain to the person about whom you are seeking information. Extreme care should be exercised in using any information obtained from this Web site. The City of Mansfield, DPS nor the State of Texas shall be responsible for any errors or omissions produced by secondary dissemination of this information.

If you feel there is an error on a sex offender registration record located in the City of Mansfield including address, please report the information to the Mansfield Police Department.
